An immersive approach to patient care

A brand story captured

We were approached by VRelax, creators of a scientifically validated app that uses virtual reality as a tool for mental health. The idea for our collaboration was to define their brand story and capture it in video form. Our challenge: to pinpoint the essence of their product and clearly communicate the value it represents for patients and caregivers alike.

The right focus

In telling a brand’s story, you need to get straight to the core. In the case of VRelax, we saw the effects of their virtual experiences on mental health as the key value to promote. Focussing only on this aspect of their solution, we were able to realise a final product that is as straightforward as it is convincing.

Through the eyes of the patient

The video takes on a personal perspective, centring on two individuals who suffer from stress and anxiety. This human backdrop creates room for emotion, allowing the viewer to empathise with the situation before the introduction of VRelax’s solution.

“I want to thank the great people at Sensu for their professional approach. Together we created a commercial that covers everything, from mental health issues to the layered nature of our product.”

Shaping the mood

To establish the contrast between visible discomfort and serenity, we didn’t rely on convincing acting work alone. From composition to colour, from editing to sound design, we used every tool at our disposal to build an atmosphere that amplifies the emotions of the patients on screen.

Transitioning between worlds

How to visualise the power of a virtual experience? Faced with this unique challenge, we opted to depict the leap from reality to virtual reality in third-person view. Initially filmed in domestic locations, our characters’ daily surroundings are swallowed up and replaced by peaceful 3D-animated environments.
